Julia Trotter MBE has been exhibiting successfully over the last 20 years. Starting with the Oakham Gallery London, and continuing with Frames Contemporary Art Perth, The Coldstream Gallery, The Dundas Street Gallery Edinburgh, and Art Amatoria in the Borders of Scotland, where she lives.
She enjoys creating colourful oils, interior and landscape scenes, drawing on her immediate surroundings for inspiration all painted with the vitality of someone who wants to “capture that moment”, and to be able to share it with others.
Julia’s lifelong love of colour, design and texture, combines with a deep desire to put on to canvas in her words, “the atmosphere and beauty of interiors and gardens, leading to wonderful landscapes beyond”. Her works span from 4ft canvases to little gems of distant hills, where her passion can be seen. She feels very fortunate to have lived and travelled in so many inspiring places, notably France and Italy.
Julia has been greatly influenced by Bonnard, Renoir, her neighbour Susan Ryder R.P. NEAC. and Patrick Murphy.
