This Autumn we have a truly wonderful collection of stunning ceramics on show. Our artists come from all over the country and each has a unique style.
Acclaimed Cornish ceramicist Paul Jackson’s work is widely admired and is collected by people all over the UK and the US. He uses white earthenware to throw on the wheel, before being subtly altered and colourfully decorated.
Melanie Legge is a portrait sculptor who also creates unique cabbage leaf-like bowls in transluscent glazed porcelain. They look incredibly fragile but are in fact surprisingly resilient!
Irena Sibrijns’ ceramic range is both decorative and utilitarian, some thrown on the wheel, some built up using slabs. The surface decoration is the distinguishing element of her work using a complex range of techniques to achieve the final piece.
Born in France but living and working in London, Laurance Simon’s work is both beautiful and intricate. She is inspired by nature and no two pieces are ever the same. Stunning drawings, moulding and decorative patterns are combined to produce a unique and quirky range of ceramics.
Kent based Antonia Thompson has created an elegant group of ceramic bottles with stylised elongated necks and subtle glazes in a variety of green washes.
Jennie McCall’s beautiful ceramic sculptures are created in porcelain, her award winning work evokes mystery and intrigue. The finish is transluscent and pure.
All our ceramics are on show at The Guilsborough Gallery, address below, or we can bring to London where we are currently exhibiting some of our art collection at Kelling Designs, 3 Langton Street, London SW10 0JL. Delivery/shipping can be arranged.
We are so proud of all our amazing artists and delighted to have such an exciting collection – but don’t just take our word for it – come and see for yourselves! We are open by appointment from now until Christmas.
